The Fire Australia 2010 Call for Papers for is now open.

this years conference will focus on community and Infrastructure, encompassing the protection of society's assets, heritage and resources in a constantly changing world. Below are some suggested topics:

  • Protecting heritage listed buildings - lessons learnt from overseas
  • The need for safe tunnels in increasingly complex urban areas
  • Prescriptive protection in busy public areas - recent progress and change
  • Evacuations - are the protocols working
  • Public buildings - protection v cost
  • how safe are building refurbishments - what's being missed
  • Protecting our heritage in bushfire areas - avoiding another Mount Stromlo
  • The urban fringe under pressure - regulation and responsibilities
