The fastest and most convenient means of getting to Hobart. Hobart airport is located 17 kms south east of the city centre and offers a bus service, taxi rank and car rental agencies. Below is a table which indicates the one way costs and travel times to Hobart from all the major capital cities.

By Sea
For those who wish to make it a journey and a break you can drive your car onto the Spirit of Tasmania and enjoy overnight accomodation while making your way across the Bass Straight. This will allow you to enjoy Tasmania's beautiful scenery as you wind your way through the state to Hobart.
The Spirit of Tasmania departs both Port Melbourne (VIC) and Davenport (TAS) at 8pm every night and arrives at 7am each morning. Docking is between 5:30pm and 7:15pm. The operators have offered delegates of Fire Australia 2009 discount rates (subject to availability).

By Car
Parking at Wrest Point
The car park is acessible from Sandy Bay Road and has more than enough spaces. The conference facilities are located on the northern end of the complex with it's own dedicated entry.
Parking at Wrest Point is free.
By Bus
There are frequent bus services in and around the Hobart area with several routes servicing Sandy Bay Road.

Delegates Bus Service 
A free shuttle bus will be in operation for delegates to travel to and from the dinner function. Pick up and drop offs will occur at the Wrest Point foyer and the entrance to Motel 429.
